Tim White nasce a Erith, Inghilterra il 4 Aprile 1952.
Di Tim White si sa solo che ha studiato presso il Medway College of Art tra il ’68 e ’72, per poi lavorare presso agenzie pubblicitarie e iniziare il suo lavoro di illustratore a metà degli anni ’70, prestando il suo talento per grandi nomi dell’Immaginario: Arthur C. Clarke, Robert Heinlein, Roger Zelazny, H.P. Lovecraft, Isaac Asimov, Bruce Sterling e molti altri.
Il suo stile risente dell’influenza di Chris Foss, John Berkey e Peter Elson con un evidente richiamo al grande Richard Corben.
